Please note, however, that a request to modify or remove your information will only modify or remove your information from our list. Information We Collect

LEAP

The Leadership Education for Adult Professionals (LEAP) program, allows professors and students to work together in a mutually beneficial educational experience. Indiana Wesleyan University has graduated over 32,000 adult students and continues to help adult learners take the next steps towards success.

Indiana Wesleyan University's College of Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS) is also known as Leadership Education for Adult Professionals (LEAP). LEAP was founded in 1985, to offer adult learners a place to seek new education opportunities that may be related to ever-changing work environments and technologies. LEAP has more than 23,000 alumnae and currently there are over 9,000 students. Alumni of Indiana Wesleyan University are involved in learning institutions with more than 500 employers, school districts, businesses, health-care groups and associations.

History

Indiana Wesleyan University was founded in 1920, as a Christian university and continues its tradition as a faith-based university, developing programs around Christian principles and ethics.

In 2000, Indiana Wesleyan University grew its' academic foundation into three colleges including the College of Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS). Indiana Wesleyan University's growth is rooted in its core curriculum which empowers adult students to advance in their careers.

Indiana Wesleyan University is one of the fastest growing universities in the country; Indiana Wesleyan University's innovative adult education program has become a national model, with one of the highest graduation rates in the nation. The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities recently chose Indiana Wesleyan University to house the future Research Center in Adult Learning — designed to be an international clearinghouse of information and ongoing research on adult learning — which is a tribute to IWU's excellent reputation.

Now more than ever, working adults are choosing Indiana Wesleyan University's College of Adult and Professional Studies. Indiana Wesleyan University enrollment is on the rise with a 200 percent increase since 1990. IWU is becoming the first choice for many adult learners in Indiana. This year's student population exceeded 11,400 students. The convenience of college is only getting easier with online course enrollment available at Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky learning centers.

The adult education courses at Indiana Wesleyan University are specifically created with the understanding that most adult learners work during the day. Therefore, Indiana Wesleyan University conveniently offers courses in the evening and online. There are 14 campus locations:

Two locations in Indianapolis
Fort Wayne, Merrillville, Shelbyville, Kokomo, Greenwood, Marion and Columbus, Indiana
Three locations in Louisville, Kentucky
Two locations in Cleveland, Ohio

Throughout Indiana, Indiana Wesleyan University offers classes at more than 80 off-campus locations.

Adult learners who choose to study off campus will have plenty of support for all their classes. IWU offers a variety of library services by telephone, fax, e-mail or mail where someone will assist you with any research or bibliographical questions. Indiana Wesleyan University's main goal is to bring education to the student, without disrupting their responsibilities at the office.
